[here, have a video. It's a smiling, pleasant-looking man in his mid thirties. He has the calm air of someone who has practiced saying this into the camera a few times.]

Hello, everyone. My name is Jarod DiCaprio, and I've recently taken post on board this ship along with a few new wardens. I'll begin serving on board staring just about---[he looks at his watch]---now. That's a good time to start, I think.

I look forward to meeting everyone, and I hope to hear from you soon.

You look awfully familiar, though I can't quite place you. Name doesn't ring a bell, and I hardly forget those. Ah, well. Hello, and pleased to meet you; I'm the Doctor. For the nonce, it seems, the Doctor of the Library. [Not that he sounds too upset about that, of course.]

Is there often a need for medical attention in the library?

There was, at one time, an arbitrary swarm of locusts here. It was dreadful, and took me quite a long time... er, relatively, at any rate- to replace as many as was possible for me, and to restore others. Beyond that, I suppose my name is supported more by reputation than by credentials.

The Doctor, of course. Though, before we fall into a Laurel and Hardy sketch, yes- that is my name. I've acquired a bit of a collection over the course of my travels, however, being that humans seem often dissatisfied with lack of specifics.

Oh, no, I believe you.

But...Doctor who?

Oh, honestly. [But he chuckles!] Let's see... you may call me Dr. Von Wer, if you'd like.

Doctor Sir Who in German?

Why not? It worked well enough for me a few lives ago. But I chose that one more to indicate 'of,' rather than claim nobility- made more sense at the time.

Is there a reason for the assumed alias? [Jarod's not accusing here, merely curious]

I suppose I had a bit of a weakness for a touch of drama in that incarnation. [mutters]

...I certainly panicked enough for it, back then.
