[extremely long pause, then Jarod quickly shuts off his communicator]

[Hell no, if he thinks he's getting away with it that easily, he has another thing coming. Quickly Parker showed up at his door and pounded on it.]

Let me in, Jarod! I know you're fucking in there!

[Jarod doesn't reply. He walks around so he is on the side behind the door, so should she open it, she won't see him]

[Parker opens the door quickly, giving it a kick for good measure. Now this feels familiar. Very familiar indeed. She walks into the room purposefully, angrily.]

I know you're in here, Jarod.

[when she passes him, Jarod slips immediately into run-mode, sliding past her and to the door. Very familiar indeed.]

I'm not going to chase you, Jarod. I don't want to do that anymore. If you can't talk to me about anything then what is the point of even trying to pretend that we're friends?

[he stops and turns back. He wants to say something particularly sassy in response, but instead the utter truth comes out:]

[Jarod is immensely interested in the answer to this question, but also more than a little afraid of what the answer might've been]

[She frowned at him for a moment, and paced again.]

[She looked vaguely shocked as the words fell out of her mouth; she really didn't want to ask that.]

[She read the panic, and that was enough. She didn't push it.]

[this is meant to be rhetorical, but he unwittingly makes it into a question]

[Parker's hands were on her mouth for a moment.]

[he takes a few steps towards her]
